Ecowheels is a company dedicated to empowering individuals to make a positive difference in the fight against climate change. We provide a simple and effective way for people to offset the carbon emissions from their vehicles.
-
Ecowheels offsets an individual's vehicle emissions through renewable energy, conservation and reforestation projects.
We calculate the amount of carbon dioxide emissions produced by an individual’s vehicle based on the type of vehicle driven, and offset that amount of carbon dioxide using carbon credits from the projects mentioned above.
While we try to be as accurate as possible in offsetting emissions, we cannot guarantee 100% carbon neutrality due to each vehicle being slightly different. -
Yes, each customer who purchases an offset through Ecowheels will receive a bumper sticker that says "This car’s emissions have been offset" to proudly display on their car. It's a tangible way to showcase your commitment to reducing your carbon footprint and raising awareness about climate change.
-
One carbon credit represents a reduction, avoidance or removal of one tonne of carbon dioxide or its carbon dioxide-equivalent. These credits are generated by projects that reduce or remove greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, from the atmosphere.
-
Getting started is easy! Simply select the vehicle type that you wish to offset, and we will retire carbon credits equivalent to the average annual emissions for that type of vehicle. You will also receive a bumper sticker that shows that your vehicle has been offset!
-
While we strive to accurately offset your vehicle emissions, we cannot guarantee complete carbon neutrality. It's challenging to precisely determine the exact emissions produced by each vehicle, and as such, we have calculated the offsets based on the average emissions according to vehicle size. Our services aim to offset emissions to the best of our ability.
-
The cost of offsetting your vehicle emissions varies depending on the type of vehicle that you drive. We provide transparent pricing on our website, so you can see exactly how much it will cost before offsetting your vehicle.
-
Ecowheels is responsible for retiring the carbon credits ourselves, as seen on all of our retirement certificates.
We retire all of our carbon credits through the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), and have our partners complete thorough due diligence on each project to ensure that the project is legitimate and permanent.
This ensures the integrity and credibility of the carbon offset projects we support.
Due diligence is completed on all of the projects by Tasman Environmental Markets (TEM), an independent third party. All certification of the retirement of carbon credits can be found on our website.
